Fill Your Belly at the Chester County Restaurant Festival

September 1, 2016

September is the most delicious month to live in West Chester, because the city is host to the annual Chester County Restaurant Festival. It’s set to kick off right in the middle of downtown West Chester on Sept. 18 at noon. We hope to see you there!

Chester County Restaurant Festival Basics

Downtown residents will get some nice scents wafting in their windows on Saturday, Sept. 18, as the venders set up and get ready for this year’s festivities. The festival will span Gay Street from Matlack Street to Darlington Street, and Market Street from Darlington Street to High Street.

The festival starts at noon and is scheduled to run until about 5:30 p.m. An important note: If it’s raining on the 18th, the festival will be held on the following Saturday, the 25th.

Also important: If you live in West Chester but aren’t coming to the festival (why would you do that?), you’ll want to take note of the many road closures and plan accordingly. They’ll be closed all day, starting at 7 a.m. They’re listed here.

What to Expect at the Restaurant Festival

More than 65 area restaurants and food vendors are going to be participating this year, so come hungry. Attendees get to vote on their top choice, and the awards are given out at the end of the day. Sample liberally and choose wisely!

A beer and wine garden called the Church Street Cafe will be set up at Gay Street and Church Street, with profits going to the “Send a Kid to Camp” program operated by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.

More than 100 arts and craft vendors will be on hand to sell their wares to attendees.
