West Chester Christmas Parade is Back
December 3, 2019The holiday season is upon us, and it will all be on full display at one of the region’s longest-running and most beloved holiday traditions–and it all happens right outside your Chestnut Square apartment. The annual QVC West Chester Christmas Parade returns Dec. 6, with a full evening of festive excitement.
The Jingle Elf Run kicks off the fun at 6:30 p.m. Don your ugly sweater, reindeer ears and other holiday garb and pound the pavement with your neighbors in this two-mile run or one-mile walk. Cash awards will go to the top finishers of the run, along with other great prizes for best-dressed participants.
At 7:15 p.m., the parade steps off, with hundreds of participants who will march the route, that winds just a half-block from your Chestnut Square apartment. Contingents include marching bands, fire companies, antique vehicles, floats, businesses and more—most of which are from right here in West Chester. Get there early with a blanket and some hot chocolate to save your spot along the route, and you might even get seen on TV, as 6ABC’s Adam Joseph will be broadcasting from along the parade route.
Until 9 p.m., stop by the Holiday Village in the heart of downtown to peruse dozens of tents featuring local businesses and nonprofits. Get a jump on your holiday shopping with some one-of-a-kind gifts from local vendors who will be exhibiting at the village, or learn more about different ways you can give back to local charities this holiday season. Also, enjoy hot chocolate, snacks, holiday music, live performances, kids’ activities, photo opps and much more.
Holiday events abound in the coming weeks, but the West Chester Christmas Parade is considered the biggest and best—and it’s one that can’t be missed! So break out your red and green and head out to the heart of West Chester to take part in the merriment.
