Make the Most of Summer in West Chester

The sun is shining, the grass is growing and the Phils are back at the stadium—summer in West Chester is finally almost here! One way to welcome summer is at First Friday in West Chester. Starting in the spring, downtown West Chester is bringing back its popular monthly event, which had been sidelined last year for COVID. On May 7 and June 4, stroll right out of your Chestnut Square apartment for the short walk to the center of town to take in all that West Chester has to offer this spring—all for less!

First Friday is an opportunity for the small businesses in town to showcase their unique goods and services. Weather permitting, many stores will bring their products right to the sidewalk so you can browse while you walk, also a great way to support safety and social distancing. Many of the businesses plan to offer special discounts for First Friday, as will local restaurants.

The event is the perfect chance to give back to the small business community, which has been hit hard in the last year. Start your night dining al fresco at one of the many downtown eateries then pound the pavement to grab some Mother’s and Father’s Day gifts, or even just some new décor for your Chestnut Square apartment. Finish the evening with some ice cream or an outdoor cocktail to make it a perfect warm weather outing.
