Bottoms Up for New West Chester Festival

June 16, 2017

West Chester will be ground zero for beer lovers this summer, thanks to a new festival coming our way.

The first-ever West Chester Craft Beer Festival will be held June 17 at 501 E. Miner St., five blocks from your Chestnut Square apartment.

Though there will be plenty of activities at the festival, the main attraction is the breweries. More than 65 are participating, with more being added each day. Many hail from right in our region, so you can taste their offerings at the festival and visit their headquarters later on to stock up on your faves.

Each ticket holder will receive a tasting glass to visit the vendor booths, many of which will have an array of beers to suit drinkers of all tastes. You can take intermissions from your sampling for food breaks from local and regional restaurants. Artisans will also be set up throughout the vendor for your shopping perusal (a good option if you haven’t found a gift for Father’s Day yet!).

While the festival will be a good opportunity for West Chesterites to get out and about on a summer day and socialize, it’s also a way to give back to the neighborhood. Proceeds from the event benefit the Charles A. Melton Arts & Education Center, which provides educational, recreational, cultural and civic programs.

Tickets are $40 or, for an extra $10, you can get into the festival an hour early and beat some of the crowds. Non-drinkers are also welcome for just $5.
