Fun, Fundraising in the Streets of West Chester

June 2, 2017

West Chester’s biggest race returns this month!

On June 9, the Dub C 4-Miler will have racers winding their way through West Chester’s streets, starting and finishing at Kildare’s, just three blocks from your Chestnut Square apartment.

So what is the Dub C 4-Miler? As the name suggests, it’s a longtime 4-mile race that attracts hundreds of runners of all abilities and ages to support two deserving causes. Proceeds from the day’s events benefit Chester County Down Syndrome Interest Group and Parkinson Council. Both are local organizations that achieve real results for people in need in our communities.

When it comes to runners, the more the merrier. Everyone from experienced racers to beginners who just bought their first pair of running sneakers take part, as the goal of the day is fun and fundraising. Though, for the serious runners, awards will be given the top-five males and females, and the top-two 40-plus runners.

Youngsters are also encouraged to get involved. There will be three separate kids races: a 25-meter “Diaper Dash” for toddlers, a half-mile run for those aged 3-8 and a 1-mile run for kids aged 9-13. All kids will get a medal and T-shirt for competing.

Kids can enter for just $5; adult entry is $25 before June 2 or $30 up until the day of the race. Racers can pick up their bibs and other materials June 7-8 at Chester County Running Store, or starting 5 p.m. the evening of the race at High and Market streets.
