Where to Find Outdoor Summer Fun in West Chester

July 9, 2019

Summer is in full swing, which means it’s a great opportunity to get out and about and enjoy all that West Chester has to offer! From parks to nature preserves to hiking trails, there are lots of opportunities right near your Chestnut Square apartment to soak up the sunshine and take in the scenery. Downtown West Chester is also hosting a number of outdoor events this summer where locals can enjoy the fresh air all while taking in live entertainment and, of course, the town’s booming culinary and shopping scenes! Here are just a few of the programs coming our way:

Swingin’ Summer Thursdays: On July 11, Aug. 1 and Sept. 5, downtown comes to life with food, live music, kids’ activities and much more for the annual Swingin’ Summer Thursdays events. Check out artisan vendors, local performers and more, as shops roll out the sidewalk sales and restaurants and bars get in on the fun with specials and samples. While the downtown area is always a great spot to walk around on a summer evening, Swingin’ Summer Thursdays takes the entertainment to a whole new level.

Turk’s Head Music Festival: On July 21, from noon to 8 p.m. head out to Everhart Park, one mile from your Chestnut Square apartment, for the 37th annual music festival. The free event features 11 bands on two separate stages, representing a wide variety of genres—from rock and R&B to country and folk, and everything in between. Kids’ activities abound, as does art—with more than 70 vendors who will offer unique, handcrafted goods. There will be lots of local foods and drinks, so grab a blanket, your crew and head out to the park for a day of fun with old friends and new!
