West Chester’s Biggest Music Festival Returns

September 14, 2021

Live music has been pretty hard to find during the pandemic. While cozying up on the couch of your Chestnut Square apartment to tune into a virtual concert may have been a memorable experience, many of us are likely craving the energy and excitement associated with live entertainment. Luckily for West Chester residents, that fun is all coming back this month.

The Turks Head Music Festival, the town’s annual celebration of all things music, is returning Sept. 19 at Everhart Park, just one mile from your Chestnut Square apartment. From noon-8 p.m., enjoy music from eight bands across two stages, representing a variety of genres: country, blues, indie, folk and much more. And best yet? All of the talent is local! Turks Head Music Festival is dedicated to promoting the best of the best of West Chester area artists, so all performers hail from our region. After a tough year that especially challenged up-and-coming artists, this is a great opportunity to show your support for emerging musicians whose careers can be catapulted with some backing by the West Chester area.

And it’s not only about the music. More than 70 vendors will also display at booths throughout the park, showcasing their high-quality, homemade items. From handcrafted homegoods that can add some new décor to your Chestnut Square apartment to artisan jewelry and clothing, this is a perfect opportunity to treat yourself or even get a super-early jump on holiday gift-buying. As you peruse the offerings, snack on light bites made with all locally sourced ingredients and enjoy locally produced beers, wines and ciders.

Local is the name of the game at the Turks Head Music Festival. Whether you’re looking to kick back and enjoy some great new local music, support West Chester’s small businesses or just enjoy a (hopefully!) picture perfect late summer afternoon with friends old and new, Turks Head Music Festival is a must-visit.
